  2. I know what you're up to. And your little sister, too!! After 20 years of chopping down our own tree each Christmas, we finally decide to hang up the saw and give in to Lowe's after Christmas sale. And we get hammered for it! I even set out an evergreen-scented reed diffuser that you can almost smell. Well, the tree is beautiful. No more tieing a tree on the top of our car, riding with the windows down in 75 degree weather, holding onto the ropes with all our strength, praying the tree doesn't slide off while driving up Arnold Ave. No more 3-day episodes of back pain from hauling it up and down the stairs. No more sticky sap-stained clothes. No more securing a tree with wire wrapped around the trunk and extending to each side of a window so it won't tip over. No more cats jumping to get the bird ornaments .... or real dead birds .... I'm still sorry about that, but it does make me laugh. And no more vacuuming up dead needles for 11 months, then having to take it to the repair shop to get it unclogged.
I hope you notice that Flav hasn't posted a derogatory comment. She still loves us!!
    Guess who?!?!?

    Fake + Mundane = Synthetic Cone-Shaped Thing.

True + Magic = Christmas Tree.

And BTW, for Greenies, one would have to use the same pie-shaped piece of plastic for TWENTY (20) years before it would have a lower carbon footprint than a real tree. And don't forget the MAGIC part!

  6. i have a synthetic tree. gretchen and i got it for free from a lady in our church 6 years ago. over the past 6 years, it has saved us quite a bit of money. and i don't think that it has limited the amount of christmas cheer in our household. :)

to me it's like the difference between digital and film photography. sure, film has a better look and feel. and it takes skill and experience to take and develop good pictures. and...if you mess up a shot, that shot is gone forever. and when it comes down to it, to the average user, digital is just as good and more versatile for many applications (i.e. a computer desktop).

penny, i don't mean any offense to film. please understand that. :)
