i have a love-hate relationship with biostatistics. mostly i hate it. just spent forty-five minutes on one question for the current assignment. let me clarify: part a of one question. my instructor likes to divide the questions into parts and sub-parts so although it may look relatively harmless and straight-forward, it's actually a seven-page answer to 'one' question. hate. biostatistics.
so that you don't think i'm always complaining, i would like to point to the love part of my relationship with biostatistics. i love it when i'm done with an assignment or class is over. and i'm truly fascinated with the biostatistical basis of my field. i just don't like having to actually do the calculations. statistical analysis software? love it! give it to me! let me play with data all day long. hand calculations of confidence intervals using the chi-square distribution with a paired two-sample experiment? well, you can just take that and - calculate it yourself.
